We Wanna Be Your Happening
A project on the relationship between audience and performer, presented in Bologna, Santarcangelo and Florence.
After Pink, Me & The Roses, in 2009 and 2010 Codice Ivan explored the relationship between audience and performer with the project We Wanna Be Your Happening. It was presented at Raum in Bologna, at Santarcangelo 40° and at the opening of Murate, the new contemporary art centre in Florence.
At Santarcangelo 40, in July 2010, Codice Ivan presented W.room—visitors(space), a self-contained part of We Wanna Be Your Happening: first an interactive installation, then a performance, both at the Teatrino della Collegiata. The piece looked at how speed shapes people's lives and their immediate reality, and involved the spectators, more or less knowingly, in the creation of new performances: the collective went looking for people willing to be interviewed (festival catalogue, 2010).
